Welcome to Slowly

Slowly is the continuation of Cwicly.

Cwicly was a visual site builder for the WordPress block editor, and a good one. It let you design real, responsive sites inside Gutenberg, with clean markup and proper control over the look, and plenty of people built their work on it. Then its development ended, and all of that was left without a future.

Slowly picks it up, keeps it maintained for the people who relied on it, and carries it forward in the open. Credit for the original belongs to the people who made Cwicly. Slowly stands on what they built.

The name

Cwicly reads as "quickly." Slowly is the opposite, and that is the point. The industry's habit is to move fast and break things. This project would rather move slowly and keep them working.

What it does

Slowly is a WordPress plugin. You design by placing and styling blocks on the canvas Gutenberg already gives you. Every block carries a full design panel, a global design system holds your classes, colours, and type in one place, and dynamic content is drawn from WordPress and ACF. It runs on any block theme and writes clean markup.
