Design library
Insert ready-made designs into the editor, from Slowly's library or your own.
The design library lets you drop ready-made designs straight into the editor, a section, a header, a whole layout, rather than building every piece from scratch.
It has two sides:
- The Slowly library is a stock set of designs, hosted by Slowly, that you browse and insert.
- Your own library connects your own design cloud, so the pieces you save are available across your sites.
Save a design from the editor to add it to your library, and insert from either side with a click. What you insert lands as ordinary blocks, yours to edit like anything else.
A library of your own
Libraries are served by a small standalone WordPress plugin, the same one behind the Slowly library itself. It stores saved designs and serves them to any editor that connects with the right key. A connection is a host plus a key, nothing more, so a library can live anywhere that plugin runs.
The Slowly catalog itself is read-only: you browse it and insert from it, and nothing anyone saves can land in it. Saving needs a library of your own, which is where two planned additions come in:
- Connections with their own host. Each connection will store the address it talks to, so one editor can mix libraries from different places, including existing Cwicly design clouds.
- Self-hosting. With per-connection hosts in place, you can run the library plugin on a WordPress you control and keep your design cloud entirely on your own infrastructure. Designs you save from any of your sites land there, and any of your sites can insert them.
