Paragraph
A block of body text, the default for writing on the page.
The Paragraph block is plain body text, the block you reach for most when writing on a page. Type into it directly, and use the Design tab for size, colour, spacing, and everything else.
For type that stays consistent across the site, set it through your global typography rather than block by block.
Adding one
- Select the section or container to hold it.
- Open the inserter and search "paragraph".
- Pick the Paragraph block and start typing.
Styling
The full design panel is available: spacing, type, colour, borders, and effects, each per breakpoint. For link colour within the paragraph, look for the link colour control in the type section. The hover and focus states let you style any inline links as the pointer moves over them.
Accessibility
Keep paragraph text in a Paragraph block rather than inside a heading block styled down to body size. Screen readers announce heading levels to help people navigate a page, so a paragraph dressed as a heading disrupts that structure. If a line is genuinely a heading, use a Heading block with the correct level.
